THE HUMILITY IDEA
H.U.M.B.L.E
H – Having
U – Undesirable
M – Moments
B – Best
L – Lived
E – Exemplary
Humility is about having undesirable moments best lived in an exemplary
manner.
The Misunderstood Virtue
To the proud, a humble person often appears weak.
To the untrained eye, humility can look like foolishness — especially when
someone chooses not to fight over spilled milk already soaking in the mud.
Yet true humility is not cowardice. It is the strength to hold back,
the courage to yield, and the wisdom to choose peace over pride.
The Cost of Humility
The humble often feel they’ve “lost a part of themselves” — especially
when others push them to the wall and they choose not to retaliate. And yes, at
times, this sense of loss is real.
Genuinely humble people are rare. That’s because humility demands consistency. Without
it, one quickly grows weary and slips back into old patterns.
The line is thin — between standing your ground and reacting in pride.
Navigating that line takes both grace and practice.
Jesus: The Perfect Picture
The humility of Jesus is the ultimate example — lived not only outwardly
but inwardly (in the secrecy of the heart) and relationally (in
how people experienced Him).
Imagine: He allowed Himself to be at the mercy of the very people into
whose nostrils He had once breathed life.
He modeled the balance between:
- Rebuke
- Correction
- Discipline
…all done in humility.
Don’t Fall for False Accusations
Sometimes, people will call you proud just because you insist that
the right thing be done. Don’t be shaken.
Those seeking to gain an unfair advantage will often use the “humility
card” to guilt or manipulate others into silence or compliance. Jesus
warned us of this too.
He taught that there are times to let swindlers take advantage — and
times to apply wisdom and defend what is rightfully yours.
Humility: A Mark of True Humanity
Humility is not a religious virtue alone — it's a human virtue.
Anyone who refuses to be humble is rejecting the very essence of what it means
to be human, as designed by God.
So if humility qualifies us to be truly human, how much more is expected
of those who profess Christ — the very embodiment of humility?
A Well of Eternal Wealth
Humility is not a weakness.
It is a deep well of strength, wisdom, and wealth — one that transcends life on
this earth.
Let’s reconsider this powerful idea. Let’s choose to live differently.
Let’s choose humility.

God bless you.
